Terms of use

These terms cover the Tipto desktop application, its browser extension, and the tipto.ai website. By installing or using them you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
Early access
Tipto is early-access software provided free of charge. It is under active development, features may change or be removed, and releases may contain defects. It is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Your content and your responsibility
Your library stays on your device and remains yours. You are responsible for the content you add to it and for having the right to access, capture and store that content, including anything you capture from websites or import as a document.
You are responsible for backing up your library. The application includes backup and export tools; use them. We cannot recover data from your machine.
Third-party services
Tipto connects to services you choose, most notably the AI provider whose API key you configure. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and pricing, and you are responsible for any charges they bill you. We do not control their availability, output or data handling.
AI-generated summaries, digests and answers can be incomplete or wrong. Tipto keeps the underlying sources so you can check them, and you should — especially for financial, legal, medical or safety-related material. Do not rely on generated output as the sole basis for a decision.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Tipto to:
- Access content you are not authorised to access, or circumvent access controls
- Violate a website's terms of service or applicable law when collecting content
- Redistribute copyrighted material you do not have the right to redistribute
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising out of your use of or inability to use Tipto — including costs incurred with a third-party AI provider.
Updates and changes
The application can download and install updates automatically. We may change these terms as the product develops; the date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
