Installing on macOS
- Open the .dmg and drag Tipto into Applications.
- Builds are signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so they open without a security override.
- Requires macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon.
Installing on Windows
- Run the setup.exe installer and follow the prompts.
- The installer is code-signed, so SmartScreen should not block it.
- Requires 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
After installing
Set up your AI key
Tipto uses your own provider. Open Settings → AI, add the base URL of any OpenAI-compatible chat completions endpoint, paste your API key, and choose a model. The key is stored on your device and is never included in backups.
Verify your download
SHA-512 checksums
Base64-encoded SHA-512, matching the release metadata the auto-updater uses. On macOS:
shasum -a 512 -b <file> | xxd -r -p | base64.
